Eder Militao has not played since 31st October. His last match was against Huesca which saw Real Madrid win 4-1.
He then got COVID-19 and that allowed the other Real Madrid central defenders to play instead of him.
It has been nearly two months since we last saw Eder Militao in action. It has been a long time since then.
Militao started against Huesca. He played 90 minutes and Real Madrid easily beat Huesca 4-1.
Problems came after that. Militao tested positive and he had to self-isolate at home, in accordance with the protocol.
He tested positive on 2nd November and he had to self-isolate until the 19th which is when he got his negative result.
But, until then, Zidane had found players who were performing in Militao’s role like Nacho. Now the Brazilian is struggling to get into the starting XI.
This Sunday, Real Madrid face Eibar. Mendy will presumably be on the bench. It remains to be seen whether the Real Madrid coach gives him some minutes as the match progresses.
