Everton V Man City Postponed Due To COVID-19 Cases

Manchester City communicated on Monday that the match scheduled for 21:00 against Everton at Goodison Park has been postponed after the latest tests showed new coronavirus cases as well as another 4 previously diagnosed.

The Everton v Manchester City match will not be played on Monday evening, after City announced an undetermined number of coronavirus cases which have led to the postponement of the match at Goodison Park.

According to City in the statement, these COVID-19 cases join another four which were already diagnosed on 25th December, which makes this an outbreak that City are trying to contain.

“Manchester City FC can confirm that this evening’s Premier League fixture at Everton has been postponed”, the statement said.

“After the latest round of Covid-19 testing, the club returned a number of positive cases, in addition to the four already reported on Christmas Day”, the club added.

“With the security of the bubble compromised, there posed a risk that the virus could spread further amongst the squad, the staff and potentially beyond”, City continued.
