Gareth Bale put Tottenham ahead against Stoke City in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. The Welshman started the Carabao Cup tie, something he does not do in the Premier League.
With 22 minutes on the clock, Winks put a great cross into the area from Stoke’s right and Bale diverted the ball with his head towards goal.
The ball towards the far post and Andy Lonergan in the Stoke goal was left with no chance. The Welshman celebrated with his fists up in the air.
It is Bale’s third goal for Tottenham since moving to the club on loan from Real Madrid. He is not playing much in the Premier League, but he is getting his chances in the Europa League. He was replaced at half-time by Son-Heung Min.
