According to reports from the ‘Daily Express’ and ‘Mirror’, Arsenal could opt for Rafa Benitez as an alternative to the current Mikel Arteta.
The string of bad results came to an end at the Emirates. Arsenal beat Chelsea 3-1 on Saturday and gave coach Mikel Arteta what could prove to be his last chance at the club.
But it has been several weeks since talk began of the possible dismissal of the Spanish coach and everything seems to indicate that, saving a miracle, the rumors will end up being true.
In the list of its possible substitutes are several names like Thomas Tuchel, still trainer of Paris Saint-Germain, or Massimiliano Allegri, although the ‘Daily Express’ and ‘Mirror’ assure that the favorite in London is Rafa Benítez.
The Madrid-born coach is currently coaching Dalian Pro in China and ended last season with a 4-0 victory over Guangzhou R&F, which led to his side finishing in the twelfth position.
But Benitez has a big name in England, having previously coached Chelsea, Newcastle and, perhaps his most golden period, Liverpool, where he won the Champions League.
